Easter Cupcakes

With Easter just round the corner, what are those Easter Bunnies going to be eating?  Easter Carrot Cupcakes of course!  Here are some I made a little while ago for another event, but I thought they would suit an Easter theme perfectly.

These sugar cookie “carrots” are growing in a chocolaty cupcake base.  I love the look of a whole cupcake field of them growing together.  Makes me want to do a whole range of garden style cupcakes!

These cupcakes would be perfect for Easter, a garden party or perhaps as a birthday treat for someone born in the Year of the Rabbit!

Easter Cookie Decorating Kit

Easter is almost here!  And to celebrate we’ve created an Easter Cookie Decorating Kit.

It’s a super fun activity to do with the kids for Easter and a little different (and less messy) than egg decorating.  Even the very little ones can do it too – as long as they can hold a pen and scribble.  This is the perfect activity to add to your Easter party or playdate.

The blank cookie canvasses:

What will you draw?

Happy Easter Everyone!

Rainbow Party

Today we are honoured to be showcasing a party by my incredibly talented friend, Aimee, who created a wonderfully colourful Rainbow Party for her son’s birthday.  Take a look at these glorious jelly cups – I just adore vibrant colours, the multicoloured sprinkle rims and the super cute paper umbrellas.

And what party could be complete without cake and lots of it!  Check out these psychedelic cupcakes that Aimee made.  Not only is the cake multi-hued but frosting  is as well!  Genius.  And Aimee has decorated the edges of the cupcake stand so that it is co-ordinated with the colourful theme.

And last but definitely not least, I want to show you these layered marshmallows that she made.  They are yet another super-creative way to incorporate the theme of the party.  And who could resist such a fun treat!

As Aimee says “I don’t want to see food colour again for a LONG time”.  That might be the case Aimee, but thanks for sharing all your hard work and your beautiful party with us!

Now quite separately from Aimee, I had put together some rainbow party ideas on Pinterest.  I don’t think she knew that I was working on this and I didn’t know she was working on her party!  Clearly great minds think alike.  If you would like some other rainbow ideas, do check out my Rainbow Party board.

Wedding Cake

A friend asked me to create a wedding cake and here’s the result.  This cake is definitely from the Less-Is-More school of thought.  Two pristine white stacked tiers covered with satiny vanilla fondant.  This is then edged with a sheer white ribbon with a slight metallic sheen which adds just a hint of sophisticated sparkle.  And last of all small white icing pearls are piped around the circumference of the cake to add a sweet but contemporary feel.

This is very much my style of cake.  Modern, clean and understated.

It would also be perfect with a bright contrasting ribbon and matching dots.  Or pale pastel colours for a softer look.  The possibilities are endless!

Suitable for a wedding, this would also be great for a sophisticated bridal or baby shower.

Cupcakes with a Message

Ever made cupcakes with a Latin inscription before? Nope?  Well it was definitely a first for me.  These were made for a fantastic talk on philosophy, focused on Descartes.  He’s the one that came up with the phrase “Cogito ergo sum” or in English “I think therefore I am”.

I must admit that I had to wiki Descartes before I could come up with suitable cake ideas.  I wanted to keep the design very clean and simple, really letting the concept of his philosophical thinkings shine through.  Hence the white cupcake cases, the pure white fondant disks and the simple embossed inscription.

The cake in this instance was a classic dark chocolate cake topped with a fluffy chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.  Just a classic cake and icing combination, but with the bitter dark chocolate flavour making it suitable for a party of grown-ups.

These cupcakes can be customised with whatever message you desire to send along with your sweet treats.

Baby Rattles

These macaron baby rattles are just darling! How sweet would these be for a baby shower?  And as macaron trend continues unabated, you can find these delectable treats in a wide variety of colours and flavours.  Perfect for customising.

This idea would also work well with oreo pops.  Take a look at some we’ve created here at Enjoy! Bespoke Cakes.
