Paper Cut Invites

Paper Cut Out Invites

I found these gorgeous paper-cut invites online.  I love their delicate outline, intriguing complexity combined with the simplicity of a monochrome palette.  Although these remind me of Chinese papercuts, these are actually based on a very similar Mexican art of Papel Picado (which originated from the Chinese paper cutting technique!).

Would go perfectly with our paper cut cake.

Panda Cupcakes

Check out these panda cupcakes that I found, aren’t they cute!  If your kids are as obsessed with the Ocean Park pandas as mine is then these would be the perfect cupcakes for their party.  These are mini-sized cupcakes, perfect for tiny hands.

Panda party could be themed in black and white with plenty of cuddly inspiration.  What could be cuter?

Homemade Birthday Card

I love home-made birthday cards.  Are there any mamas out there who get their child(ren) to make all the birthday cards for their family and friends?  Yup, guilty here.

Take a look at this card and it’s wonderful surprise inside!  Sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

If you’re crafty and want to have a go (get your child to help!), check out the link here.

Boy or Girl?

Pregnant? Are you going to find out if you are having a boy or a girl?  Have you heard of the gender reveal parties that are all the rage at the moment?  No?

A gender reveal party is an event where you tell your friends and family if you are expecting a little boy or a little girl.  The cake is the centre of attention and holds the secret!  Frosted in a pristine white, it hides either a pink or a blue interior.  That way when it’s sliced into, it’ll reveal the gender of the baby.

Want to be truly surprised?  You don’t even have to find out the gender of the baby first.  Get your obstetrician or ultrasound technician to write it on a slip of paper and place it in a sealed envelope.  Then hand that envelope to your baker!

This could easily be combined with a baby shower.  What a great way to celebrate the impending arrival of the baby and to tell your friends and family the gender in the truly unique way.  Just make sure your obstetrician is super certain of the result and no one minds if it turns out to be a boy or a girl!

Tram Party

Looking for a cool and unusual party venue?  Hire a tram to get a truly Hong Kong experience.

You can hire these gorgeous looking antique trams to whisk you and your guests from the Western District to Happy Valley (and back again).  Plus there’s an open air area on top to so you can pop your head out and take a good look at the Hong Kong scenery.

Only thing to note is there aren’t any toilets on board, so plan well!

Might be a fun way to start out the night for a bachelorette party.  Or perhaps as a fun leaving do – get one last good look at Hong Kong before you leave this little island.

Brush Embroidery Cookies

Mother’s Day is about a month away now.  If you are anything like me, you’ll remember it bright and early and then forget to do anything about it till it’s much too late.  Anyway, I came across these gorgeous brush embroidery cookies which I thought would be perfect for the occasion.

I think they would make very pretty favours for a bridal shower too or perhaps a sophisticated young lady’s birthday.
