Back to School

Summer’s over and it’s the start of a brand new school year.  We made these sweet little cupcakes as a welcome back treat for the teachers and other parents. What better way to get the new academic year off to a sweet start!

For more of our cakes check out Enjoy! Bespoke Events.

These gorgeous printables are by the super talented Megan at The Pitter Patter Press.  I just love the fun, vibrant colours she uses.  Check out her etsy store for super cute digital designs.

Farmyard Party

Well you can’t have a farmyard party without farm animals can you?  For our farm themed party, we made a number of sweet treats to go with our tractor cookies.  We had a herd of marshmallow sheep cupcakes.

And a pen full of pig-pops.  These were super popular and disappeared with astonishing speed.  The little cake pops are just the perfect size for little toddlers to munch on!

And lastly the tractor cake.

And here they are all together:

Many thanks to the wonderful Maria of Sugarbee who gave us a helping hand.  You’re the best!

Jubilee Cakes

I’ve just landed in London and happened to catch the last day of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (60 years on the throne) celebrations.  There’s plenty of bunting and flag waving so I thought I’d do round up of Diamond Jubilee Cakes.  The cakes shown here are all so very different in style!

Enjoy!

Bridal Cupcakes

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to create some bridal inspired cupcakes for Hong Kong based designer Vivian Luk.  Vivian designs some truly gorgeous bridal and evening dresses, check out her dreamy creations here.  Plus she previously worked in New York with the queen of bridal design herself – Vera Wang.  If I were a bride-to-be I’d definitely head over to her atelier!

I wanted to create some cupcakes based on Vivian’s gorgeous dresses, so went with a white on white theme.   I kept things simple, clean and modern, with sculpted bows, delicate lace and a sprinkling of pretty flowers.

The cupcakes were lemon flavoured with a delicate limoncello buttercream frosting.  Just enough to add a grown up hint of alcohol but not enough to be overpowering.

These would also be perfect for a bridal shower or wedding event!

Baby Shower Cupcakes

Just finished a batch of red velvet cupcakes decorated for a baby shower.  The decorations feature a red and white theme and lots of happy baby designs.  And of course a dragon design for a baby to be born in the Year of the Dragon! Congratulations to the pregnant mummy-to-be!

Gluten Free Treats

A friend asked me yesterday if I would consider making gluten free cakes.  Now to be honest I’ve never made any gluten free treats before, but would certainly be happy to experiment.

I remember a blog that I’ve been following for a while now that I wanted to share with you.  Canelle et Vanille has some of the most gorgeous food styling and photographs around.  The writer, an avid baker, found out that she was sensitive to gluten and started experimenting recently with gluten free recipes.  Check out her recipe index for some great recipes.  The picture above is for a gluten-free brown butter, apple and carrot muffin – doesn’t it look delicious?

Panda Cupcakes

Check out these panda cupcakes that I found, aren’t they cute!  If your kids are as obsessed with the Ocean Park pandas as mine is then these would be the perfect cupcakes for their party.  These are mini-sized cupcakes, perfect for tiny hands.

Panda party could be themed in black and white with plenty of cuddly inspiration.  What could be cuter?

Enjoy!
