Get ready for some farmyard fun!  Here are some colourful tractor cookies that I made a little while ago for a fun farmyard themed party for a little boy.  The birthday boy in question loves tractors and farmyard animals and so it was the perfect theme for him!

Enjoy! Bespoke Events was responsible for designing a number of aspects of the party: the invites, cake and other sweet treats, decorations and party bags.

Stay tuned as we cover the party in the upcoming posts!

Rainbow Party

Today we are honoured to be showcasing a party by my incredibly talented friend, Aimee, who created a wonderfully colourful Rainbow Party for her son’s birthday.  Take a look at these glorious jelly cups – I just adore vibrant colours, the multicoloured sprinkle rims and the super cute paper umbrellas.

And what party could be complete without cake and lots of it!  Check out these psychedelic cupcakes that Aimee made.  Not only is the cake multi-hued but frosting  is as well!  Genius.  And Aimee has decorated the edges of the cupcake stand so that it is co-ordinated with the colourful theme.

And last but definitely not least, I want to show you these layered marshmallows that she made.  They are yet another super-creative way to incorporate the theme of the party.  And who could resist such a fun treat!

As Aimee says “I don’t want to see food colour again for a LONG time”.  That might be the case Aimee, but thanks for sharing all your hard work and your beautiful party with us!

Now quite separately from Aimee, I had put together some rainbow party ideas on Pinterest.  I don’t think she knew that I was working on this and I didn’t know she was working on her party!  Clearly great minds think alike.  If you would like some other rainbow ideas, do check out my Rainbow Party board.

Doodle Cake

Doodle Cake

Have you got a little Picasso at home?  This would be the perfect cake for a child who just LOVES drawing.  The cake is covered with fondant which creates a lovely brilliant white canvas on which to doodle whatever the imagination is able to conjure up.  It actual drawing is done with edible food colour pens which are very similar to felt-tipped pens or marker pens.  The pens are easy to handle and best of all, there isn’t any messy clean-up unlike decorating with icing!  Wouldn’t your child be so proud to have decorated their own cake?

Another idea would be to make the cake and have all their friends sign it or doodle on a small portion of it for a more collaborative effort.  An edible guest book!

We did something very similar for Christmas this year, decorating royal icing covered vanilla sugar cookies.  The children loved drawing on the cookies getting involved with the decoration.

Party Bag Fillers: Dinosaur Crayons

Recently we used these wonderful crayons as party bag fillers for a dinosaur themed birthday party.  I adore the colourful variegated designs which are so visually appealing.  The crayons are also nice and substantial, which adds satisfying bulk to the gift bag and are a great size for little hands to hold and draw with.

Another aspect of these crayons we love is that they are eco-friendly!  Made from soy wax, they are made of recycled high-quality non-toxic materials and are hand poured by Etsy vendor Scribber Crayons.  We love supporting Etsy vendors!

The perfect party bag filler!
