Mood Board: Feel the Love Engagement Party

Mood boards are a great way to convey the different elements of a party, and Pinterest is a super-easy way to pull one together.  If you haven’t jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon as yet (warning: it’s totally addictive), check out our Pinterest website here.

We created this mood board above as suggestions for a heartfelt engagement party.  What better way to celebrate the love of a couple about to embark on a new and exciting stage in their lives together!  The theme is very much based on lots of hearts, with co-ordinating red and white accompaniments.

To go into more depth with more ideas, check out our Feel the Love Engagement Party board.

Our Red Ombre Heart Cake would be perfect too for a celebration like this!  For more of our cake creations, check out Enjoy! Bespoke Cakes.

Red Ombre Heart Cake

So I made this cake a little while ago but didn’t have time to blog about it as yet.  Inspired by the current trend for all things ombre (graduated colour), I decided to create a clean, modern cake with a sweet surprise.

The exterior of the cake is pure alabaster white with a striking scarlet heart on the front.  So far so normal, but once you cut into the cake, a lovely surprise energes.  Just take a look at those glorious layers:

I especially love the red and white colour combo and the graduation from pale pink to deep crimson.  The colour contrast is so striking and effective.

We can of course do this cake in a variety of different colours, say green or blue or even as a rainbow!

This cake would be perfect for Valentine’s Day or perhaps an engagement party. Or maybe just to say “I love you”!

Baby Rattles

These macaron baby rattles are just darling! How sweet would these be for a baby shower?  And as macaron trend continues unabated, you can find these delectable treats in a wide variety of colours and flavours.  Perfect for customising.

This idea would also work well with oreo pops.  Take a look at some we’ve created here at Enjoy! Bespoke Cakes.

Vintage Invite

I’m loving the vintage-inspired trend at the moment.  These invites are so pretty!  I love the bright but ever-so-slightly muted colours on the shower invite above and the  wonderful juxtaposition of the different fonts.

Here are a couple of other lovely ones.

Venues: Aqua Luna

Want a quintessentially Hong Kong venue for a party?  The Aqua Luna is a gorgeous old school junk that plys the waters around Hong Kong Island.  With its burnished wooden decks and crimson cloth sails, it’s a gorgeous venue with ample Chinese style.

I once had a major birthday party on the boat and everything from the comfy daybeds on the top deck to the seated tables for dining in the covered area was well thought out.  With 1,500 square feet of indoor and alfresco space on two decks, the junk can accommodate up to 80 guests but doesn’t feel empty with a smaller group.

What a lovely way to enjoy the Hong Kong skyline, with the wind in your hair and a glass of well-chilled champagne in your hand.

Would be perfect for a special birthday or a leaving do!

Dr Seuss Birthday Party

These Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes are just the perfect treat for a Dr Seuss themed party.  I love the bright primary colours which really make these cupcakes pop.  They are just so fun, they’re sure to bring a smile to people’s faces.

Wouldn’t this be great as a party for twins?
